STORYTELLER’S CONFERENCE DAY 2

Join us for the 2023 Storyteller’s Conference! An opportunity to fill your toolbox, grow as an artist, and train with several experts of their craft – local and international.  Storytellers of all experience levels welcome.  Participate in one or both days of the conference, each morning starting off with some coffee and snacks and many opportunities for networking – all conveniently located in the accessible CSI Spadina, just minutes from our main festival venues!

$130 per day / $220 for both

Conference Day 2 Schedule:

Welcome & Coffee – 9:30am-10:00am

Breath and the Storyteller with Stratford voice coach Paul de Jong
10:00am-12:00pm
In this workshop, you will discover how breath forms the foundation of all storytelling and connects us deeply to our own voices and imagination. Through a combination of voice exercises, you will begin to unlock the incredible power of the breath and explore how it can free up your voice for a more creative range of expression.
Please bring three or four lines from a story that you have been working on. The lines should be potent and give voice to the climax of your story. Please wear clothes that you can move and stretch in.

Growing the Narrative with Bob Barton

The purpose of this workshop is to explore ways to create new knowledge about a story lacking detail as it relates to plot, character and meaning.

Finding the Heart of Your Story with Devan Sandiford

Join us for this moving personal storytelling workshop that will help you discover the deep and meaningful truths within your story. Whether it’s something powerful you’ve been wanting to share on stage, something poignant you’ve been meaning to speak up about at work, or even something intimate you didn’t even know you were struggling to voice at home, this workshop is for you. Drawing from his experience of transforming from a person who repressed all the emotion-filled moments from his life to an award-winning storyteller, Devan Sandiford will guide participants as they search for the heart of their stories and lean into the power of vulnerability.
