My great grandmother loved telling stories of the mysterious Djinns. My father lapped them up as a little boy. He didn’t care if they were true or not. As a young man he was locked up for his political activism, he realized how valuable the stories were — at night the prisoners would forget the walls around them, and lose themselves in the ancient stories.
Tales of the Djinn combines Iranian folktales and myths with a multigenerational family narration. Introducing audiences not only to powerful storytelling, but the Amsterdam style of weaving the true stories with the old tales.
This event will be live-streamed.
