Welcome to the Toronto International Storytelling Festival 2026!


From whispered folktales to spoken word, from memoir to myth, the 2026 Festival celebrates the stories that connect us—seeking the common ground where truth and lives intersect.


The festival features storytelling from compelling Indigenous, Canadian based and international experts alongside interactive events and workshops. International tellers include DANIEL MORDEN (Wales) RACCONTAMIUNASTORIA (Italy), and JACQUI DU TOIT (South Africa/Ottawa) Indigenous tellers include OZAAWAA and LENORE KEESHIG, and Toronto-based tellers include MARIELLA BERTELLI, ITAH SADU, BRIANE NASIMOK,QUEERS IN YOUR EARS, and PARENT-CHILD MOTHER GOOSE PROGRAM.

Directions

The closest major intersection is Bathurst Street and Bloor Street. The Palmerston Library is located two blocks west of Bathurst Street on the North side of Bloor Street.

Public Transit

The nearest TTC subway station is Bathurst. From there, walk one block west on Eleanor Ross Lane to the library.


Parking

Paid - Street parking along Palmerston Ave. Municipal parking lots located north of Bloor Street across from library.

Accessibility

This venue is wheelchair accessible with a ramp and elevator to the lower level where the theatre is. 


First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto

Directions

The closest major intersection is Vaughan Road and Oakwood Avenue. The First Unitarian Congregation of toronto is located a few blocks southeast of Eglinton Avenue and Dufferin Street.


Public Transit

The nearest TTC stop is Oakwood Station, walk south 8 minutes down Oakwood Ave.

The 63 Ossington bus travels on Oakwood Ave between Lines 1 & 5’s Cedarvale station and Line 2’s Ossington station.  

The 90 Vaughan bus travels southbound from Cedarvale station, and northbound from Line 1’s St Clair West station.

Sunday bus service operates at 10-minute intervals.

Parking

Special Parking: There are a limited number of parking spots just east of the building, these spots are reserved for those with mobility challenges.

Free Parking: Within 500 metres of 473 Oakwood, there are numerous public roads that offer free parking with various restrictions related to time of day, time of week and time of year.

Paid Parking: Municipal commercial parking lots are located 350 metres south (a 5-minute walk) at 402 Oakwood providing approximately 18 spaces, and 150 metres further south (total 8-minute walk) at 52 Holland Park Avenue providing approximately 22 spaces.


Accessibility

This venue is wheelchair accessible and service animals are welcome on the premises in public areas.

The closest major intersections are Yonge & Bloor, and Yonge & Wellesley. The ArQuives is on the north side at 34 Isabella Street.


Public Transit

The nearest TTC subway station is Yonge-Bloor Station. From here travel 3 blocks south on Yonge Street to Isabella Street. Turn east on Isabella Street


Parking

There is no dedicated parking for The ArQuives.

There are two Green P parking lots within walking distance of the archives. One on Isabella Street, and the other is off of Charles Street.

Finding street parking is challenging, if not impossible.

Accessibility

The entrance is at the front of the building and has an accessibility ramp. The doors do not open automatically, please ring the doorbell at the front entrance for access.
