Featuring Maria Ordonez

Canada is a country made of immigrants. When they came, they brought their stories from different oral traditions, cultures, and languages. We want to gather around a circle to listen to stories from different Oral Traditions, and to tell our favourite Folktales, Fairies Tales or family stories. Stories have the power to bring back happy memories and can be a portal to travel in time and space.

The Storytelling Circle’s main goal is to respect and honor all the stories, languages, and traditions, creating a welcoming and relaxed environment where everybody feels safe to share their stories. The stories are told in the air, we are not reading the stories. The purpose of this program is to offer entertainment for seniors through the traditional art of storytelling and at the same time to create a community of listeners who love stories.
